About me…

Abigail Wighton is a singer-songwriter from Wollongong now based in Sydney on Wangal land. She regularly performs her original songs sharing way too many secrets and providing honest reflections of love and loss. With the “voice of an angel” Abigail has been paving her way in the folk and country singer-songwriter scene, and has been honoured to open for Fanny Lumsden, Colin Buchanan, Alex Lloyd and Maggie Rigby (The Maes). Abigail graduated from the esteemed Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) senior academy course in January 2025. She is currently working on her next collection of songs with Simon Johnson and can’t wait to share them.

Abigail was invited to showcase her original songs at the 2024, 2025 and 2026 National Folk Festival. Abigail released her 2nd EP ‘soon’ in 2024 which was accompanied by an 8 stop tour. ‘soon’ was well received by radio including Beccy Cole from Saturday Night Country on ABC.

In 2019 she proudly released her debut EP, ‘interwoven’ accompanied by a headline show. After performing and recording as much as she could between lockdowns she released her dual single: ‘Known’ featuring ‘More Than You Know’ and ‘Fully Known’ in 2022.

Abigail regularly plays in Sydney and surrounding regions and has been fortunate enough to grace many stages including Marrickville Music Festival, Stanmore Music Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival, Bundanoon Folk Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Newstead Live.
